For groups of over 20 in number , £5 per head.
Under 20 in number, £5.50

Pre-booked groups are welcome throughout the season from April to the end of September, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you wish to come on closed days and we can accommodate you (which we will if we can), there is a Closed Day charge of £25 to cover staff costs.

We recommend at least 1 ½ hours to visit though most visitors want to stay longer.

Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am to 5pm, Sat 9 to 1pm

Closed all July

Open August until end September
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am to 5pm, Sat 9 to 1pm

RHS free for ONE person April and September
Not valid on bank holidays or when open for charity.

Coach Drivers and Tour Leaders

There are specific instructions for coaches:

It is essential that your guide or driver rings us 10 minutes before arrival. We will then wait for him at the junction of B4479 and School Lane wearing very silly bright yellow and help the passengers de-bus, and guide the traffic round the coach.
We then tell him where to park.

Disabled access
Please note that parts of the garden are steep, but there is 50% wheelchair access. Please ring ahead to reserve disabled parking and for the ramps to be put down.

Also it is dangerous for toddlers.

Wendy Dare, the creator of the garden, (sometime NGS organiser and Committee member of the RHS) will be delighted to give groups a short 10/15 minute introduction. This can be tailored to the Group’s interest: obviously gardening, how it was found and how it was developed, or it can be about the amazing history of the old water Mill since Saxon times and the silk industry. These talks are £25.

Guided tours
Wendy Dare, the owner of Mill Dene, has until recently been the local National Gardens Scheme organiser. She has served on the Floral 'A' Committee of the Royal Horticultural Society and has been a judge at Chelsea Flower Show. Wendy gives an entertaining and humorous tour of the garden, explaining how young, and horticulturally ignorant, newly weds found this magic building and gradually wove a garden around it.

One hour tour £60 for a group of 20 then £3 per head for more than 20. 10 minute introduction £25. Please note: parts of the garden are steep, but there is 50% wheelchair access. Please ring ahead to reserve disabled parking and for the ramps to be put down.

Mill Dene Garden can be hired for an evening event
Stow Probus Club have recently held a very successful wine and nibbles party here with 85 guests enjoying the evening sun. 100 can be accommodated with ease.

Depending on the time the charge is usually about £100.
A marquee 30 x 10 can be made available at a small extra cost.
