WCs
We have one WC for daily visitors and open another for group visits.
Disabled visitors
We would be glad if group organisers or individual disabled visitors would ring us before arrival so that we may reserve car parking space and put out ramps. The garden is set in a tiny valley, the sides of which are steep. We have grab rails and slope alternatives for steps where possible and as mentioned can put out ramps, but do be warned.
There are no WC facilities for wheelchair users, but those able to walk 4 steps may use the WC in the house.
The front of the garden by the mill pond and the Tea Room are easily accesible when we put out the ramps and, if we are forwarned, we can arrange for Andrew ,our gardener to push your chair round the difficult bits.
It is hard to judge, but, depending on individual mobility, about half of the garden is visitable in a wheelchair. (Sir William Lawrence, the wheelchair bound Chairman of the Heart of England Tourist Board, managed this much easily).
Children
The garden is not safe for young children. We have an unguarded mill pond, a stream and a swimming pool. Children MUST be under the control of an adult at all times.
Guide dogs only:
our cats don't like them
